And here’s goes another one.
After years as the host of his namesake show Charlie Rose, the award-winning journalist gets fired from CBS, following multiple allegations of sexual misconduct from colleagues and co-workers.
According to the Washington Post story, the eight women who have accused Rose of sexual misconducts range in age from 21 to 37 at the time of the alleged encounters, were not employed by CBS or PBS but worked on different projects with him or for him. They have stated that Rose “made unwanted sexual advances toward them, including lewd phone calls, walking around naked in their presence, or groping their breasts, buttocks or genital areas.”
David Rhodes, president of CBS News, tweeted a statement saying Rose’s “termination” is effective immediately. He said the move followed the revelation of “extremely disturbing and intolerable behavior” stemming from Rose’s PBS interview show, Charlie Rose.
In addition to hosting his show, Rose was also the morning co-host of the network’s show, CBS This Morning, and a contributor to the long-running and award-winning 60 Minutes.

Rose’s journalistic contributions to CBS News are notable but will no longer protect him for behaviors deemed unacceptable, “There is absolutely nothing more important, in this or any organization than ensuring a safe, professional workplace,” Rhodes said in the statement.

Rose has taken responsibility and does not deny the charges and apologized in a statement to ThePost: “It is essential that these women know I hear them and that I deeply apologize for my inappropriate behavior. I am greatly embarrassed. I have behaved insensitively at times, and I accept responsibility for that, though I do not believe that all of these allegations are accurate. I always felt that I was pursuing shared feelings, even though I now realize I was mistaken.
“I have learned a great deal as a result of these events, and I hope others will too. All of us, including me, are coming to a newer and deeper recognition of the pain caused by conduct in the past, and have come to a profound new respect for women and their lives.”
