A Look at 2017 World’s Most and Least Reliable Airlines Revealed
We looked at airline performance last year regarding the percentage of flights delayed/ canceled, the average delay wait as well as safety and customer rankings to determine what airline travelers should be using next year.Here are a few of the winners and losers from our research –
- Go with GoJet – The North American airline topped the list with only 5.74% of flights delayed across a single month, and the lowest delay waiting time of just 33 minutes.
- Up in the Air: Both Air China and Air Asia came out as the two worst airlines, with 7.1% of Air China flights canceled, and 43% of Air Asia flights being delayed for just under an hour on average.
- The Big Guns – Airlines like Emirates (6th), KLM (7th) and Lufthansa (10th) performed well in contrast with KLM’s subsidiary Air France (38th) and Virgin Atlantic(35th).

Collected while Hurricane Irma occurred, the data was cross-referenced from airlineratings.com, flightstats.com, flightaware.com, and caa.co.uk for 44 airlines in September 2017.
