Actress Stacey Dash from ‘Clueless’ fame is running for Congress in California

Stacey Dash, a staunch republican announced today that she is running for Congress. Dash filed the paperwork Monday to run in California’s 44th district. The district is currently represented by the popular Democrat Nanette Barragán and it will be a tough battle.

Georgia Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle, a Republican threatens to stop Delta tax break over NRA decision

Georgia Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle has, vowed to “kill any tax legislation” that helps Delta unless it reverses decision to no longer offer discounts to National Rifle Association members. It is left to be seen if these corporations breaking from the NRA will affect the association bottom line or not, especially with such strong congressional support.

Cagle believes that corporations who are limiting or breaking away from the NRA are missing the point. He tweeted,

As of today, these are the companies who have withdrawn support from the NRA due to recent efforts by gun-control activists and the public outcry following the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, which resulted in the death of 17 students and many more gravely injured.

Delta is reaching out to the NRA to let them know we will be ending their contract for discounted rates through our group travel program. We will be requesting that the NRA remove our information from their website.

United Airline is notifying the NRA that we will no longer offer a discounted rate to their annual meeting and we are asking that the NRA remove our information from their website.

We have notified the NRA that we are ending the NRA’s rental car discount program with Hertz

Symantec has stopped its discount program with the National Rifle Association.

  • Allied Van Lines

The Disney corporation donates $1 million from ‘Black Panther’profit to the Boys & Girls Clubs

Disney has a lot to be thankful this month. With its highest grossing movie breaking every type of records of attendance imaginable, it wants to give back. Black Panther grossing $111.7 million from 4,020 theaters as early in the game is a game changer for the industry, and proves that people are more than willing to go to the theater to watch a film.

Bob Iger, Disney (DIS) CEO said in a press statement that it was “thrilling to see how inspired young audiences were by the spectacular technology in the film.”

“It’s fitting that we show our appreciation by helping advance STEM programs for youth, especially in underserved areas of the country, to give them the knowledge and tools to build the future they want,” he added.
