Fine lines and skin firmness improved

I’m always looking for products that aren’t going to break the bank, non-tested on animals and are as natural as possible and when CVS had a promotion of Burt’s Bees Renewal, I took the opportunity to try the regimen. I was pleasantly pleased with the results I’ve experienced using Burt’s Bees Renewal skincare line.  The old say goes an apple a day will keep the doctor away, and this line with apple and white hibiscus complex may be what I need to keep my skin looking and feeling healthy. The company reports that when used as part of a daily regimen, Burt’s Bees Renewal products are clinically proven to improve skin’s texture and smoothness. It states that 96% of women saw a reduction in the appearance of wrinkles after just eight weeks, but I saw an improvement in skin texture within four days.

For four weeks, my skincare routine consisted of three steps: cleaning, serum and face cream with Burt’s Bees Renewal skincare to treat fine lines and skin firmness.

I started with deep cleaning my face morning and night with Renewal Refining cleaner to remove all traces of dirt and make-up. I particularly liked its creamy texture with a slight exfoliant. It made my skin look and feel like a shiny red apple. At $10 and less (CVS), it’s a shoo-in.

After the deep cleaning, I followed up with the Intensive Firming serum which has been clinically proven to reduce deep lines and wrinkles. You have to shake the bottle before applying due to its 98.9% natural content. Cost: $19.99

I finished my routine with the Renewal Firming night cream which I use morning and night. For the daytime, I applied a sunscreen over the cream. It’s rich and light and goes on smoothly, and is absorbed rapidly. I noticed that my makeup blended better when preceded with this cream. Cost: $19.90

The entire line is non-tested on animals, has a fresh but distinct smell, 98.9% Natural, dermatologist tested, noncomedogenic and is formulated without Parabens, Phthalates, petrolatum, and SLS. The Hibiscus and Apple Rejuvenating Complex is infused with wrinkle smoothing White Hibiscus and intensively hydrating Apple. It locks moisture inside the skin to plump up cells and helps visibly tighten the skin’s surface.

Update February 28: Since publishing this product review, I’ve learned that Burt’s Bees may not remain cruelty-free since Clorox who purchased the company in 2007 has started to sell the line in China, which by law requires animal testing. See Cruelty-free Kitty’s article
