The U.S. Postal Service is celebrating a milestone for the natural world by issuing a pane of stamps featuring 20 different endangered animals. These stamps will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Endangered Species Act (ESA), a law that has been integral in protecting vulnerable species and their habitats.

Postal Service Spotlights Endangered Species.

The ESA was signed into law by President Richard Nixon in 1973, and it has played a critical role in the survival of numerous species. Since the law’s inception, it has saved many species, including the bald eagle, the gray wolf, and the humpback whale. These species are just a few of the many that have been protected with the help of the ESA.

The project’s aim is to inspire action through education and to help protect wildlife by supporting on-the-ground conservation efforts.Art director Derry Noyes designed the stamps with Sartore’s existing photographs. The Endangered Species stamps are being issued as Forever® stamps. These Forever stamps will always be equal in value to the current First-Class Mail® one ounce.

This year, the USPS is highlighting the importance of the ESA by releasing these commemorative stamps. The stamps will feature 20 endangered animals from all across the United States, including the black-footed ferret, the snowy owl, and the northern spotted owl, to name a few. These stamps remind us of our responsibility to protect endangered species and highlight their beauty and place in the natural world.

The first-day-of-issue event for the Endangered Species Forever stamps is free and open to the public, making it an excellent opportunity for people of all ages to learn more about these animals and the importance of their conservation. This free event also serves as a way to promote the preservation of endangered species and encourage people to protect these animals and their habitats.

With the hashtags #EndangeredSpeciesStamps and #ESA50, the news of these stamps is being widely shared, paboutmoting awareness and education about the ESA and the role it plays in preserving the natural world.

These commemorative stamps serve as a reminder of the critical role we play in protecting endangered species and the habitats they rely on. Through the ESA and events such as the first-day-of-issue event, we can promote awareness and education about these animals and the importance of their conservation. Let us hope that these stamps serve as a call to action to protect these beautiful creatnd the natural world we all share.
