SWAIA Native Fashion Week Unveils Stellar Lineup for 2024 Event
Santa Fe, New Mexico (SW) – The SWAIA Native Fashion Week (SNFW), hailed as the inaugural American-produced Indigenous Fashion Week, has announced its lineup of esteemed designers for this year’s highly anticipated event, set to commence on May 2, 2024, in Santa Fe. Among the luminaries headlining the event are Angela DeMontigny of Ayimach_Lodge, Rachelle Whitewing, and Jason Baerg, accompanied by Carrie Wood under the label “chichi” and Dehmin Cleland.
This groundbreaking event promises to showcase the diverse talents and cultural richness of Indigenous fashion designers from across North America. Pamela Baker of T.O.C Legends, Peshawn Bread of House of Sutai, and Justin Jacob Louis are joining the roster, each bringing their unique vision and craftsmanship to the forefront.
Notably, Lesley Hampton, known for her inclusive approach to fashion and commitment to diversity, will also grace the runway at SNFW. Hampton’s presence underscores the event’s dedication to celebrating Indigenous identity while challenging mainstream fashion norms.
Loren Aragon of Towering Stone, renowned for his striking designs inspired by his Acoma Pueblo heritage, joins the lineup alongside Maria Hupfield, whose innovative work blurs the lines between fashion, art, and performance.
Completing the stellar lineup are Orlando Dugi, Patricia Michaels, Qaulluq, Randy Leigh Barton, and Victoria’s Arctic Fashion, each bringing their distinct perspectives and cultural influences to the runway.
