Skincare Review: Peach & Lily Glass Skin Ginseng Collagen Mask

Skincare Review: Peach & Lily Glass Skin Ginseng Collagen Mask

K-beauty trends have a way of sweeping me off my feet—or at least sweeping yet another mask into my bathroom. So when Peach & Lily’s Glass Skin Ginseng Collagen Mask promised that coveted “glass look,” I dove in with high hopes and a clean face.

Unfortunately, the experience was far less luminous than advertised.

Application: More Slapstick Than Skincare

The mask comes in two separate pieces—one for the upper face and one for the lower—and from the moment I opened the first packet, I knew I was in trouble. The gel material was so slippery that I could barely get a grip on it. Before I even managed to line it up with my cheekbones, it slid right out of my hands and into the sink.

I reluctantly opened a second envelope.

Trying to smooth the two cold, jelly-like sheets onto my face was frustrating. The upper half clung only in patches, and the lower half kept folding in on itself like cling wrap. Getting the edges to lie flat was nearly impossible. The brand recommends chilling the mask for that ultra-glassy finish; mine was cold straight out of the pack, and the icy shock certainly woke me up—but it did nothing to help it stay put.

Overnight Test: Wishful Thinking

Because some users claim to wear it while sleeping (and because I was determined to give this mask every chance to shine), I tried the same. Unsurprisingly, it lasted maybe five minutes before sliding right off. Not exactly the “sleeping beauty” treatment.

Results: Glassy, Yes — Dewy, No

When I finally removed the mask—after enough time to justify the ordeal—I did notice a glassy sheen. My skin looked smooth and a bit tighter, as if lightly laminated. But that effect came with a drawback: my skin felt dry, not plump or dewy. For a mask touting hydration and collagen support, that was disappointing.

Verdict

While the Peach & Lily Glass Skin Ginseng Collagen Mask is undeniably trendy and has gorgeous packaging, I can’t recommend it. The difficult application, the slipping, the wasted second mask, and the underwhelming hydration all overshadow its temporary glassy finish. There are far easier—and far more effective—ways to achieve a healthy glow.

Trendy isn’t always better. And in this case, it’s definitely not glass-skin greatness.
