Island Packers, Ventura County’s official concessionaire to Channel Islands National Park, offers narrated, non-landing trips lasting approximately three and a half hours, with morning and afternoon departures available throughout the season. Channel Islands Sportfishing Center also provides half-day whale watching excursions on weekdays and weekends, running from December 26 through April 30.
Beyond whale watching, Oxnard offers plenty of ways to enjoy the holiday season outdoors. Uncrowded beaches, coastal trails, access to the Channel Islands, and a variety of local attractions make the city an appealing winter getaway.
